Partnership can be much more than sending money from a «rich» partner church to a «poor» partner church. Members of two United Methodist congregations in the Slovak Republic discovered recently the treasures a partnership can hold as well:
In the last week of June 2006, 4 members from Bratislava UMC flew to Dallas, TX (USA), to join a mission team of their partner church, the University Park UMC, to Guatemala. Together they spent 9 days in Central America sharing their faith, their love and their time with people living there. Now they stay some more days in Dallas to strengthen their friendship with many people of their partner church.
And a Youth Volunteers in Mission-Team from Keller, TX (USA), currently visits their partner church in Trnava. They have about 10 days to work together and to evangelize, share and laugh.
Different countries. Different languages. Different cultural backgrounds. But one God. And one mission.
