The worship services are held in more than 20 languages, but there are many more languages and ways in which members of this Church share the love of God with their neighbors.

Living in three countries – yet still journeying together

From April 11 to 14, 2019, the 85th session of Serbia-Macedonia Provisional Annual Conference took place at Skopje UMC (Macedonia). The theme had been chosen from Psalm 34:14: “Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.”


UMC in Romania is constituted as a district

Eight years ago, an independent local church in Romania joined the UMC. Since then, the work slowly but steadily grew. At this year’s meeting of the Provisional Annual Conference Bulgaria-Romania, which took place from April 4 to 7, 2019, in Veliko Tarnovo, the Methodist work in Romania was constituted as a district.


At a crossroads: Executive Committee of the Central Conference meets in Macedonia

From March 6-10, 2019, about 40 members and guests of the Executive Committee of the Central Conference of Central and Southern Europe of the UMC gathered in Monospitovo (Macedonia) for their annual meeting. The preparation of the election of a new bishop and the further work after the decisions of the called session of General Conference in late February 2019 were among the main themes of the gathering.


Respect and trust in spite of differences

From January 11-13, 2019, the European and Eurasian delegates to the called session of General Conference of The United Methodist Church in St. Louis (USA) met in Braunfels (Germany).


Gasp of relief in Bulgaria

The Bulgarian parliament passed the final version of the new religious law – after having dropped the most prohibitive provisions. Methodists and adherents of other minority denominations expressed their thankfulness and relief.
